PCA9306: Vref2 Pull Up

Hi,

In PCA9306 I can see that Vref2 is provided via a 200K resistor.

May I know why it is connected.

If I removed 200K and connect Vref2 directly to Vcc will the device operate properly?

Hi Hari,

We do not recommend this. A series resistance is needed to limit the current flowing into an internal bias generation circuit that operates using VREF2. Without any limit to the current, certain application conditions could result in damage to the device.
