TPS65987D: using reverse boost with bq25713 charger

Can the reverse boost feature of the bq25713 charger (5V) to be used as the source for VCONN (PP_CABLE) as well as the peripheral source path through VBUS (PP_HV2) for the TPS65987D?

This would eliminate having a separate 5V system source for the PP_CABLE pin by using the 5V source from the reverse boost on the charger.

These questions relates to timing, as the requirement is to source up to 600mA which could be sourced from the bq25713 charger if the VCONN timing is sufficient.

Hi David,

From the perspective of the TPS65987D, we just need 5V on PP_CABLE pin. I think your question is more tailored to the BQ25713 team. I would suggest asking another question with BQ25713 as the part number.

Hi Eric; Thank you for the response. I already have this question open with the charger team, but wanted to be sure the PD controller team did not already have experience in this combination of parts.
