TPS65982: AMEn (AMEx) command arguments format

Part Number: TPS65982

Hello!

slvuan1a.pdf (tech ref manual, 2017) says that AMEn command have following argument format:
Bytes 2-3: SVID Target
Byte 1: bits 7:5: Obj Pos
Byte 1: bits 1:0: SOPTarget

Actually passing parameters in this way leads to REJECT reply from PD controller.

Application Customization tool writes arguments in next order:
Bytes 1-2: SVID Target
Bytes 2-3: Zeros
Byte 4: Obj Pos

This is also rejected by PD controller.

Old document slvuah7a.pdf (firmware user guide, 2015) says that AMEn command have argument format:
Bytes 1−2: SVID Target
Byte 3: Obj Pos

This format accepted by PD controller! (FW 1.12.08)

Could you say, what is real argument format?

Regards,
Alexander

  • Alexander,

The device looks for SVID in Byte:1-2, and 'Object Position' in Byte:3. Please input the data in this format while executing AMEn.
The documentation shall be corrected here, and we will take that action.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Praneet
