DP83822I: Lower down the temperature

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

Currently measuring Chip will have a high temperature (48 C at room temperature)
Could you share experience how to lower down the temperature?
1. How to design to reduce the power consumption in this IC?

Hi Shu-Cheng,

You can lower the powered by operating the PHY at 1.8V.
There is no other adjustment you can make to lower power.

So may i just change AVD to 1.8V, VDDIO still at 3.3v, right??

The other thing is our phy performance tested some items will be error (Red)

We would like to know how to improve this?

Any suggestion are welcome.

Hi Shu-Cheng,

Yes, you can operate the PHY at 1.8V AVD and 3.3V VDDIO.

As for the failures, please send me the magnetic you are using.
Also, please confirm that there are 49.9 ohm pull-up termination resistors on RD+/- and TD+/-.
Is there any way you can send us the layout?
Are you maintaining 100 ohm impedance control on the MDI?

For the high amplitude, you can reduce the driver strength using register 0x403.
