TPS2549: Recommendations to handle the data lines

Part Number: TPS2549

Hello team,

Please see below customer question

If the TPS2549 is used in charge only (DCP mode) and not connected to a host CPU.  What are TI’s recommendations to handle the data lines?  (DM_IN, DP_IN, DM_OUT, and DP_OUT)

  • For DCP mode, the DM_IN and DP_IN pins will need to be connected to the USB port connector. The DM_OUT and DP_OUT pins can be left floating.

The CTL1/2/3 pins will need to be configured to 000 or 001 depending on the desired current limit setting. Check Table 2 in the datasheet for the possible current limit settings.
