  • hello,
    i've seen HD3SS215,which is tagged as a hdmi swith;or hd3ss001,which is tagged as a thunderbolt switch.
    but they're also tagged as DP and eDP compatible at TI <High-Speed Switch and Redriver Guide>;
    if i want choose a switch which is compatible with DP/eDP/DP++(followed with level shifter for HDMI/DVI application),
    from the aspect of SI performance,which ti's product is my best choice?
  • Hello,
    You will have to look at the speed of the eDp that you are trying to achieve.(RBR, HBR, HBR2) from the speed you can look for the switch with the best -3bd bandwidth for your application. You will also have to get a mux for the Aux signals to the panel so you will have to take into account the common mode voltage of the signal.

  • hi,
    1.About SI,i know how to choose,thanks a lot;
    2.I have another specific question,that is,is HD3SS214 and HD3SS215,both or which of them, is compatible with DP/eDP/DP++(followed with level shifter for HDMI/DVI application)?
    thank you.

  • Hi Ag,

    The HD3SS214 is the best for a DP application because its bandwidth is 8GHz vs the HD3SS215 is only 7GHz bandwidth but can support HDMI. For your application I would go with the HD3SS214.
