TUSB1310A: ELAS_BUF_MODE signal use

Hello,

As there is no TUSB1310A reference schematic, and few information on some IOs signals, I have the following question :

does the ELAS_BUF_MODE signal need to be changed dynamically by the USB controller during an application running, or can it be fixed manually thank to an onboard setting?

what your application? A non-hub device should be able to use empty mode (set to 1), since it doesn’t have the problem of running out of data while forwarding/repeating a packet.

Thanks for your answer.
We are designing a non-hub application, so I understand ELAS_BUF_MODE can be fixed to 1.
But for my understanding, if designing a hub device for example, does this signal must be controlled by the USB controller or can it be fixed once and for all thank to an onboard setting?
There are very few information in the documentation on this signal that seems to work as a fifo empty or half full flag

for Hub, It’s set by the SS hub IP from synopsys and might change depending on the bus state
