TFP410: TFP410 for DVI Interface termination and capacitance question

Hi!

We use the TFP410 ( TI PanelBus Digital Tansmitter ) for a DVI Interface.

We want to use the differential clock (LVDS) for IDCK+ and IDCK-.

The clock source is a XILINX FPGA.

QUESTION:

Do we need an external termination resistor or is there an internal termination resistor available? ( 100Ohm? )
I didn’t find the information in the datasheet.
Should we use capacitive coupling of the clock signal with serial capacitor both in IDCK+ and IDCK- signal?
If yes, what capacitance is recommended ( 10nF or 100nF 0402)?

Hi Marcus,

From looking at the datasheet my initial thought is AC coupling is not needed since the device will need to be put in low-swing mode for use of differential clocks. In the low-swing mode, VREF is used to set the midpoint of the adjustable signaling levels and ranges from 0.55 to 0.9 V.

For the possible need of termination resistors, I will need to look into it further and get back to you.

I've confirmed that no termination resistors are needed, and that AC coupling will not work for the clock.
