Dear all,

My customer has application need 5V/3A source and Thunder bolt host support need, could you please help advice if TPS65982DC can be used in this application?

or do you have any other good suggestions in this application?

Hi John,

I would suggest moving to our latest PD controller, the TPS65987D for this application.

Hi Eric,

Since TPS65987D is a new parts, customer want to use mature solutions, could you please help confirm if TPS65982DC can be used in this application? for the Thunder bolt support, is there any concern?

Hi John,

The TPS65987D is mature and works well in Thunder Bolt host systems. The 82 also supports this use case.

Hi John,

Either device would work in a TBT host design. However, if it is a TBT device, they must use the TPS65983B.
