I would like to know whether the above chip is suitable for use in multiplexing DisplayPort video signals.
The DisplayPort protocol uses 4 differential pairs as data lines, and one additional differential pair as an auxiliary communication line. The schematic above takes in 2 DisplayPort inputs, and repeats one of them to a bus depending on which set of chips in on. If the first group is powered, it relays input one. If the second group is powered, it relays input two. I had this board manufactured, but when I wire it up to a monitor, I cannot seem to get the monitor to detect an input, even when I hardwire the hot plug detect line directly from the source to the monitor. Is this chip a suitable use for this application? I attempted to run some tests with the chip. I powered a single chip on, and tried to get it to repeat a DC signal at the input to the output, but the output remains unchanged.
