DP83630: Transformerless model

Hello,

I would like you to confirm about below.

* According to following URL, there is description about transformerless.

In this case, Device is TLK110. However, could you please conform we can realize transformerless by using DP83630 as well ?

The usecase is below.

* Not on board point to point model (This means node is connected via cable. (cable length is a few meters ))

* Connection will become daisy chain.

Customer will realize "miniaturization" and "low power", so they choose the EtherPHY device which suport IEEE1588 PTP.

If you have other device which support IEEE1588 PTPv2 and realize transformerless operation, please let me know.

    DP83630 will support transformerless operation. Here is an application report for that: www.ti.com/.../snla088a.pdf

    I am not sure if I understand your comment about point to point model. Do you mean the PHY and RJ-45 connector are on separate boards? Can you share a block diagram?

    Yes, above your understanding is correct.

    According to above URL, TI recommend short connection length (less than 1 meter), when user will use transformerless operation.

    In other words, user should NOT use transformerless operation when they will use exceed 1 meter connection length, right ?
