TUSB2046B: VID/PID requiremed when implenting a hub in production design?

Part Number: TUSB2046B

I am planning on using TUSB2046B as a USB hub to talk to a pic and an FTDI chip. Will we need our own VID/PID for the hub itself in production use? Or can we use the supplied TI VID/PID for the hub.

In what case would I be required to use the EEPROM with our own VID/PID?

Hi Kyle,

For USB hubs it is typical for customers to use the VID/PID of the silicon. A customer may chose to change it if they don't want their product identified as TI silicon and instead want their own company VID used.
