Can the SN65LVDS100, or perhaps other high speed repeaters/redrivers in the same family, be used to multiplex differential signals? The attached picture is a simplified diagram of what I am trying to accomplish - select between two or more differential signals and output them to a bus. I am aware that this is poor design practice in regards to signal integrity, but I'd simply like to know if it can be done. I build a circuit similar to the one pictured below, and tried to turn groups of chips on and off by connecting or disconnecting VCC and GND. So far what I've noticed is that even when the only pins connected to the circuit are the output pins on the bus, the chip still draws current from the bus, and creates a voltage at the floating VCC pin, the floating GND pin, as well as both of the inputs. This effectively kills the signal. What am I missing here? Here is a link to the datasheet - www.ti.com/.../sn65lvds100.pdf
