DP83867E: IEEE 1588 V2

Part Number: DP83867E

Dear all, 

The datasheet of DP83867E states that the device is compatible with IEEE 1588 timing specs. I assume it is meant to be the V1 of the standard. 

I am wondering if TI has in the roadmap a pin-to-pin compatible device that is compatible with IEEE 1588 V2 as well.

    Hi Alessandro,

    Are you looking for hardware timestamping? Unfortunately, DP83867E cannot perform Hardware timestamp. It can generate interrupt for indicating Start of Frame Delimiter. This interrupt can be used by MAC to implement 1588V2 timestamping.
