DS92LV2421: May we know if DS92LV242x can support 24 bit parallel to LVDS bridge IC (1280X720 60fps)?

Part Number: DS92LV2421
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS92LV2422, , SN65LVDS93B, SN65LVDS93A

Hi Sir

May we know if DS92LV242x can support  24 bit parallel to LVDS bridge IC (1280X720 60fps)?

or if you have other suggestion IC?

  • Hi Chen,

What is your application? Are you looking only for a parallel to LVDS bridge? The DS92LV2421 is a parallel to CML bridge, and if you use it you will also have to use the DS92LV2422 along with it due to the proprietary encoding scheme of the technology.

  • Hi Sir

Sorry for my question may not clear for you.

My customer DSP is use i.MX 6SoloX and output is 24bit.

Need parallel to LVDS , and LVDS signal into projector. (bridge ic need can support 1280X720 60fps)

The SN65LVDS93B/SN65LVDS93A seems ok, may you pls help us verify? or have other suggestion part?

    Block as below:

DSP => bridge ic => Projector

  • Hi Chen,

Either of those devices are appropriate for your application.

For future reference, whether or not the part can support the resolution depends on the pixel clock frequency range the device supports. The equation for this is Hactive*Vactive*fps*(1+%blanking). I'm not sure what %blanking your application has (the projector datasheet should have this information in the form of total pixel count, in which case the equation is Htotal*Vtotal*fps), but if we assume a very high blanking of 50%, the equation would be 1280*720*60*(1+0.5) = 83 MHz.

So either of these parts should be okay.
