Part Number: GD75232
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MAX3222

Hello

Customer follow up power down sequence on datasheet but happen break garbage signal show on the console as below. Below are customer testing waveform. Has any suggestion to solve this issue due to UTC competitor also have this issue? Or could RS232 transceiver with shutdown and isolation feature to solve this issue? Thank you.

RX_RS232 name is type wrong that is TX_RS232

  1. TX_RS232,+V12,+V12_COM(75232 VDD),+V5_TRAN(75232 VCC).

  • Patrick,

Unfortunately the Dout signal is 'normal' due to the internal circuit's undetermined state during power up/down transition. You can refer to this post for some details (https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/rs232/f/392/t/609497 ). I'm sorry this type of 3 rail RS232 transceiver doesn't have shutdown feature. Some charge pump based RS232 has shutdown pin, like MAX3222. I don't see an easy way to fix this bit error in hardware. You might consider solving it in software. Please let me know if you have more questions.

    Regards,
    Hao
