FPC402: Support for Copper SFP's (1xGbaseT)

Part Number: FPC402

Hello,

I'd like to know if the FPC402 supports copper (1xGBaseT) modules?   My understanding is that they require support for 2-byte write as opposed to 1-byte write for optical.

Don

  • Hi Don,

FPC402 is capable of burst writes up to about 32 bytes a time, so that should not be an issue. FPC devices have been designed mainly for the optical module applications, but I don't see why they cannot not be used for the copper SFPs as well, as long as the number of GPIOs and LED requirements are within the capability of FPC402.

    Thanks,
    Sri
