Can you show me the reference schematic of Line-to-Line protection by ESD314 for RJ45? Thanks.

    Hello,

    If you want line to line protection only, float the ground pin of the device. However, the device will provide line to line and line to ground protection if implemented in the way that the data sheet says.

    Also if this in in an Ethernet application and you want to use the device between the connector and the transformer you cannot connect the ground pin as the common mode voltage can be too high on that side.

    If the device is between the transformer and the phy, the ground pin can and should be connected for both line to line and line to ground protection.
