TPS65987D: May we have compare table between TPS65987 and CYPD5125?

Part Number: TPS65987D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65987, TPD6S300A,

Hi Sir

We have promote TPS65987 to customer for competitor CYPD5125.

but i face some question from customer.

1. Does TPS65987 must have add Flash ic?

2. Doesr TPS65987 have System-Level ESD on CC, D±, and SBU Pins? or need extra ESD ic to protect?

3. For CC and SBU pin voltage , we need have add TPD6S300A , am i right?

May we have  compare table between TPS65987 and CYPD5125?

  • Hi Chen,

We are looking into your query and will have someone revert back to you.

    Thanks,
    Rahul
  • Hi Chen,

    1. Does TPS65987 must have add Flash ic?
Not necessarily, if your system can work with one of the default configurations mentioned in "Table 7. Device Default Configurations" then you don't need an external flash. However, any deviation from these configurations will need to supported by an external flash.

    2. Does TPS65987 have System-Level ESD on CC, D±, and SBU Pins? or need extra ESD ic to protect?
TPS65987 supports ESD and details of that is available in Section 6.2 of the datasheet. However, additional ESD is required externally for system level protection.

    3. For CC and SBU pin voltage , we need have add TPD6S300A am i right?
We recommend TPD6S300A to be used with TPS65987D PD controllers as it provides comprehensive protection against all kind of fault scenarios be it ESD or hard short.

    Thanks,
    Rahul
