XIO2213B: What Controller/PHY is used inside the XIO2213B.

I'm very interested in knowing what Controller and PHY TI used inside of the XIO2213B. I assume they are from other products and are just repackaged in the XIO2213B with a PCIe back end.

I have been looking through the Errata's and want to insure that the Errata's for the specific controller / PHY are not also applied to this device, in addition to its Errata.

Hi Ryan,

Which erratas have you been looking through? To my knowledge the only errata that applies to the XIO2231B is this one: www.ti.com/.../scpz007a.pdf which is over 8 years old.

Thanks for the response. Yes I am aware of that errata you point at. The other PHY errata I have look at are:

I would like to know if the controller behind the bridge (PCIe - PCI) and PHY designs were lifted from existing TI chip and re-packages here. If so, what chips and assurance that TI has fixed any errata's with them.

As for the link-layer controller: the TSB82AA2B is much older and uses a different PCI device ID, so I guess there are changes. (But the XIO2213A/XIO2213B/XIO2221 all use the same ID.)

As for the PHY: the various TSB81BA3x revisions use different PHY IDs, but the XIO2213A/XIO2213B use the same ID as the TSB81BA3E (the latest one), so they are probably the same.
