HD3SS214: if source integrates the cap, if the cap is required outside the pin

Part Number: HD3SS214

My customer is concerned about the cap in below pic,

two questions are submitted in customer's side, If we have cap inside the source and Source B,  if the cap between the source and HD3SS214 is required?

The other is the role of the cap, why don't use resistor in AUX channel.

    AC couple is needed since the DP TX and RX may have different common mode voltage.

    If source A and B have internal cap, then cap between source and HD3SS214 is optional, the goal is to maintain the total capacitance between min of 75nF and max of 200nF per the DP spec. The size of cap must be max of 402.
