SN65DSI83: dsi83 test pattern

Part Number: SN65DSI83

Hello Sir,

Some questions need your help !

Can dsi83 send test pattern without DSI CLK input ?

Will this test pattern function NG if not follow initial sequence correctly ?

LCD pixel CLK is likely 1/3 DSI_CLK  for 24bpp and both LVDS_DATA and DSI_LANE is 4 , right ?

If LCD pixel CLK is 65MHz , I can see LVDS_CLK p/n around 450MHz (7 times of pixel clk)  frequency,right ?

TKS !

  • Hi Terry,

    1. You will need either the DSI CLK or an external reference clock to send the test pattern.
    2. Yes, the initialization sequence needs to be followed at all times.
    3. I'm not sure I understand this question. The LCD pixel clock depends on the LCD and you can find that information in the LCD datasheet.
    4. No, that is the bitrate. If the LCD pixel CLK is 65MHz then the LVDS_CLK should also be 65MHz.

    Regards,
    I.K.
