TCA4311A: Max operating temperature

Part Number: TCA4311A

Hi Team,

My customer is currently using PCA9511ADP from NXP in their design but are looking for a pin to pin solution that can operating in higher temperature rating, around 95degC. I saw our TCA4311A which is pin to pin with the NXP part but has the max temperature range of 85degC as well. Do we have any test results of using this part at 95degC or any other solution that has a wider temperature range?

Thanks!

Best Regards,

Alfred Logico

  • Hi Alfred,

We will check into what data we have available for TCA4311A and get back to you later this week (note that Monday is a U.S. holiday). Is a direct p2p replacement necessary in this case?

  • Hi Max,
Thanks for the quick reply. Really looking forward to the data. Yes, a direct p2p is what is needed since they are looking for mixed sources now.

  • Hello Alfred,

Looking at the data we have, it seems electrical performance was unfortunately only characterized in order to validate the 85 C maximum ambient temperature specified in the datasheet. We believe the device should retain functionality beyond this limit, although the performance would no longer align with the datasheet limits (which could present issues depending on the application). We recommend keeping the junction temperature below 125 C as well, since above this the device may have degraded reliability.
