based on table 49 and table 126 the INT/PWDN pin can be used as TX_ER. What would you need to set on PHYSCR (Table 32) Bit0? Any other setting I need to set to use Pin 8 as TX_ER?

Hi Simon,
If you want the TX_ER pin as an input, meaning performing the function of TX_ER, use the bits in table 49.
If you want to use the TX_ER to assert LPI in EEE mode, use table 126.
Use both sets of bits if you wish to use TX_ER for both functions.
