Hello TI Experts,

I find SN65DSI83-Q1 is not pin compatible with SN65DSI83

Can I know why?

And I don't find SN65DSI83-Q1 reference design

I refer to SN65DSI83,is it ok?

Hi Fawn,

They're not pin compatible because they have different packages. The SN65DSI83-Q1 has a QFP package while the SN65DSI83 has a BGA package.

And yes you can refer to the SN65DSI83 for reference since the SN65DSI83-Q1 has the same functionality and is just an automotive version of this device.

and I refer to the user guide design my product,but I have no idea how to connect DSI input pins"DA0P/ DA0N/DA1P..." ,should it be connected to CPU directly?

The voltage of the cpu dsi is 1.24V , and DSI input pins input voltage of SN65DSI83-Q1 is -0.4V-1.4V~

Hi Fawn,

Yes, the pins should be connected to the CPU directly. You should reference the Electrical Characteristics table on page 7 of the datasheet to ensure compatibility.

Can SN65DSI83-Q1 support 1920*720,

From the datasheet,The SN65DSI83 device can support up to WUXGA 1920 × 1200 at 60 frames per second, at 24 bpp with reduced blanking ,what does "reduced blanking" refer to?
