Linux/DP83TC811R-Q1: Linux/QNX driver of DP83TC811R-Q1

Part Number: DP83TC811R-Q1

Tool/software: Linux

my customer Magneti Marelli try to use MII interface to connect with DP83TC811R-Q1. but has few question about the driver:

1.     Does TI have the linux driver of TI ethernet PHY DP83TC811R

2.     how many workload if they use DP83TC811R chip in QNX driver?

thanks !

  • Hi Linda,

Yes, we do have Linux driver for DP83TC811R. The link is provided on the web page under the 'Tools & Software' section.

For the second question, does customer want to estimate the amount of software development if QNX driver is used? If this is the question, it would be difficult for us to provide a estimate as this is not a driver provided by TI. Also, this depends on what features the customer wants to implement using the QNX driver. Please correct me if I have misunderstood your question.

  • Hi Aniruddha,
thanks for your feedback, for the second question, because customer is development system based on QNX, so their questions is if they use DP83TC811R, we only have Linux driver, how many changes they need to make if they used in QNX not Linux.
  • HI Linda,

Unfortunately we will not be able to comment on the work needed for converting Linux driver to QNX driver. This would be a questions for QNX driver developer. They can use our Linux Driver code for estimating the time and work needed for the conversion.
