Dear All

I have DS90UB947-Q1EVM and DS90UB948-Q1EVM,and use coax line to connect with them, I could use the I2C and GPIO[3:0] function to DS90UB948 as deserializer, but now,I have some trouble to stop me from debug audio and video function.Please help me.

1. I can't set the EVMs into BIST mode. For DS90UB948-Q1EVM, I set BISTEN=high,BISTC=high, then the PASS pin led can light up, but the LOCK pin still low. Why? Could you tell me how to check it?

2. For BIST mode, it can pass the I2S signal (audio)?

3. Can I pass the I2S signal without video to DS90UB948-Q1EVM ? how to set the register ?

4. When I use the ALP tool, I find the pixel clock of DS90UB947 and DS90UB948 are changing always, sometimes 21MHz,sometimes 33MHz, it's normal ?

FYI.

1. I can't set the EVMs into BIST mode. For DS90UB948-Q1EVM, I set BISTEN=high,BISTC=high, then the PASS pin led can light up, but the LOCK pin still low. Why? Could you tell me how to check it?

TI: The LED light is not accurate to demo the status of PASS or LOCK, pls use scope to measure it for more accuracy.

For the BIST test, pls refer to page34 in UB948 d/s on how to set the BIST mode. In normal link the LOCK pin and PASS should be high. so you need check the BIST CRC error detection register. it sounds your link has some problem.

2. For BIST mode, it can pass the I2S signal (audio)?

TI: no.

3. Can I pass the I2S signal without video to DS90UB948-Q1EVM ? how to set the register ?

TI: yes. no special setting is needed. just running up the system, and set the I2S if needed (for detailed, pls refer to how to set I2S app. note which is listed in UB948 d/s)

3. You said when pass the audio signal,it allow without video, but in datasheet of 948 ,it said it looks like will be with video. Yes?

4. Below two pictures, it's screenshot from ALP tool with intervaling a second , there show the pixel clock are changed always

in most cases, the I2S is accompanied with video for real cases.
but you are different case, no video input. for this case, as mentioned, I2S also can be transmitted but not listed in d/s.

Thanks for your replay.

I use the DS90UB949-Q1EVM to connect with DS90UB948-Q1EVM, when power on,they can work normal, but the I2S signals must be passed with video, if there is no video, the I2S signal still can't be passed.

I think there is wrong with my DS90UB947-Q1EVM, but I check the EVM, there is not any destory.

what is the I2S signal in your test? can you capture the I2S signal in UB947's I2S_CLK pin and in the UB948's I2S_CLK pin?
