Maybe I did not correctly formulate my question.

We use the STM microcontroller.

We need to establish a TC / IP connection between this microcontroller and the computer through DP83822 and SFP module.

The LINK indicator is active. This means that a connection has appeared between the computer and the SFP module.

What do we need to send to registers DP83822 to request a PING from the microcontroller to the computer?

I believe I understand your configuration. Again DP83822 does not initiate or control PING command. No registers will cause DP83822 to ping.

If you have a link on the computer, and your microcontroller also believes it has a link, then PING must be issued from your PC or your microcontroller.

Ping is part of layer 3 in the OSI model. The PHY is layer 1 only. You must have layers 1 and 2 working before layer 3 can complete it's functions.

Try issuing your PING command from the PC.

In a previous project, we used DP83848 in the same configuration, only communication with the computer was by copper.

Everything worked well, the data was transferred from the microcontroller to the computer.

Now we need to transfer data to the computer via optical cable.

The LINK indicator is active on the DP83822 and on the computer.

What should we do next with DP83822 so that the data is also transferred to the computer as with DP83848?
