TLK2711-SP: RKMSB and RXCLK Functionality When Disabled (Enable = L)

Part Number: TLK2711-SP

I wanted to confirm the functionality of the RKMSB and RXCLK pins when the device is disabled (enable = L).

RKMSB

When the device is disabled, it looks like RKMSB will output the state of the LOS circuit, which looks like it's active low in this mode.  So if there is no input on the RXP/RXN serial input lines, then RKMSB should drive low when the device is disabled, correct?

RXCLK

When the device is disabled, it looks like RXCLK goes to a high impedance state.  Can you confirm?

Thanks!

  • Carl,
    Your interpretation is correct.
When device is disabled RKMSB will output the status of the LOS detector. All other receiver outputs will be tri-state including RXCLK.
The LOS detector is a fairly gross detection, and not really a signal quality indicator, but more complete loss of signal detection (ie, cable unplugged). It outputs active low when LOS detected.
