LMH0387: Pin termination

Part Number: LMH0387

LMH0387.  If pin 40, TX EN, is permanently pulled low which powers down the cable driver, do you need to load the input pins, 33 - 34, terminate pin 45, TERMTX,  or pull  pin 36, Rref high through a 715 ohm resistor or can they float?

  • Hi Tom,

If you tie pin 40 low then cable driver function is disabled and there is no need to connect pins 33-34.

I suggest to load pin TERMTX pins 45 since this provides a balanced AC impedance for the equalizer section of the device.

As it relates to pin 36, I suggest to load this in since this sets the reference current internal to the cable driver side - even though cable driver side is disabled.

    Regards,,,nasser.
