SN65DSI84: SN65DSI84 bring-up issue

Part Number: SN65DSI84
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DSI-TUNER,

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you

We test g104x1 and get the CSR list from DSI tuner. The panel  does not work. Is there anything we need to take care?

By the way, we have tried others panel but still didn't work.

  • Hi Shu-Cheng,

Please ensure to follow the initialization sequence. And also reference this troubleshooting guide: www.ti.com/.../slla356.pdf

    Regards,
    I.K.
  • Hi Sirs,

    Thanks for your quick reply

Actually we can output the test pattern, but the color is lighter.

Do you have any recommendations about this issue?

  • Hi Shu-Cheng,

First, please confirm that you are following the initialization sequence in the datasheet. And can you also share the .dsi file export from the DSI-Tuner?

    Regards,
    I.K.
  • Hi Sirs,

    Thanks for your reply

We can get the color bar as below. Is it correct?

  • Hi Sirs,

    Update our question as below

You can see our test pattern , It’s different color with TI’s test pattern.

We would like to know have any problem about our test pattern color?

  • Hi Shu-Cheng,

It looks like that gray bar is not quite correct. Your settings look okay but can you try adjusting the HPW value? Additionally, I have not yet received confirmation that the initialization sequence in the datasheet is being followed. Please confirm that you're following the sequence.

    Regards,
    I.K.
  • Hi Sirs,

Update initialization sequence picture as below.

  • Hi Shu-Cheng,

It doesn't look like the CLK is in HS before EN is asserted high.

The sequence is as below from the datasheet:

And here is an example from another customer:

    I.K.

  • Hi Aniyam,

I'm just started working on iMX8 with SN65DSI. It's not clear to me where to configure DSI CLK & DATA, EN pins either in dts or bridge driver. I can understand CSR registers to be programmed in bridge driver.

    Thanks
    Venkat
  • Hi venkatesh,

Unfortunately I'm only able to help with register configurations for our device, and can't provide software/driver support. You would need to loop in an expert from NXP for support with configuring the iMX8 processor. But please let me know if you have questions about register settings for the SN65DSI84.

    Regards,
    I.K.
