TPS2546: Max/Min Charging current

Hi team,

We have some question about charging current limit to ask. The question as below, thank you.

 iLimit_HI/LO Setting:

iLimit_HI=2.5A,

iLimit_LO=900mA.

  1. DCP_AUTO:  What would the max supply current be with iLimit_hi? Does the charging current be able up to 2.5A? 

2. DCP_Shorted (BC 1.2): What is the max supply current? What is the trade-off when using this mode comparing with DCP_AUTO?

    1. This is almost the design example from Section 9.2.1 of the datasheet. The min current in the example is lower, but it shows you the settings to guarantee 2.5A max continuous current, Ilim_max must be set to 2.9A. To get your target min current, you will utilize equation 1 to calculate, equation 2, or equation 3 depening on if you want to guarantee a typica, minimum, or maximum current.

    2. BC 1.2 sets the minimum current for a DCP to 1.5A and allows up to 5A.
