DS26C32AT: internal clamp diodes?

Part Number: DS26C32AT

Team,

My customer has the following request.

The DS26C31 datasheet indicates that there are clamp diodes at the inputs and outputs. There doesn't appear to be any mention of clamp diode current in the DS26C32 datasheet. For the DS26C32, are there any leakage paths, through a diode or otherwise, where charge build up on the outputs of the DS26C32 could dissipate to either VCC or GND?

Regards,

Aaron

  • Aaron,

The clamp diodes are meant to protect the device from being overstressed. For example, the voltage at the pin is above Vcc or lower than ground. I think DS26C32 has some since it has some ESD protection capability. I will order some samples to confirm it.

  • Aaron,

I did some measurement in lab. There are clamp diodes at output, whose clamping voltage is about 1.5V on both polarities. Please let me know if you have more questions.
