TUSB8041: Unused Pins when Charging Features are not needed

Part Number: TUSB8041

Hi Team,

I have a customer who is using the TUSB8041 but have no need for the charging features since all 4 ports will be operated in SDP(USB2.0) mode.  I want to verify some of the pins whether they should be pulled-up, pulled-down, or leave floating.

I was referring to this post where it was suggested to leave the PWRCTL pins floating rather than pulling them down so I want to verify some of the other pins.

1) PWRMGMT_EN#: pulled up to 3.3V

2) PWRCTL_POL

3) GANGED

4) AUTO_EN

Thanks for the help in advance and best regards,

Jerry

  • Hi Jerry,

With the exception of FULLPWRMGMT_EN#, all the rest can be left floating.

    1) PWRMGMT_EN#: pulled up to 3.3V - CORRECT

    2) PWRCTL_POL - leave floating

    3) GANGED - leave floating

    4) AUTO_EN - leave floating

    Regards,
    JMMN
