I'm reviewing "TCAN4x5x Software User's Guide" (SLLU270-September 2017). Section 3.2.7 shows the Tx Event FIFO and the first 8 bytes of a transmission. The example in this section shows the format of the Extended ID. Can I get an example that shows the format of the Standard ID?

For the product we are designing, the specific CAN format really is not requirement and not needed. My question is can the TCAN4550 be setup to use the 11 bit Standard ID yet still transmit 64 bytes of information?

Joe,

Yes, with the standard identifier or the extended identifier, 64 bytes can still be transmitted, this is part of the CAN FD standard.

The extended frame in this case will take up all bits from [28:0], if the standard frame is used, the identifier will take up bits [28:18], and then [17:0] will be filled with "do not cares", or they will just be ignored.
