TUSB4020BI: Manual Reset the TUSB4020BI with MIC811/MIC812

Part Number: TUSB4020BI

Hello,

I am trying to set up manual reset of TUSB4020BI IC with MIC811/MIC812.

Is it possible to reset manually?

is there any other way to reset this IC manually?

looking forward to your assistant.

Thanks,

  • Hello Mukesh,

The TUSB4020B can be reset by asserting the GRSTz pin low, there is no software reset.

  • Thanks, JMMN,

But I want to reset the TUSB4020B manually.

and the reason behind this manual reset is as under,

I am designing in using FSUSB30 ic to switching between two upstream port, and when i am doing that switching there is the delay of around 10s to recognise the second PC.

and so I am thinking to reset the register while shifting the upstream port,

    any suggestion over that?

    Thanks
  • There is no way to reset the TUSB4020B except by GRSTz. You could have the USB_VBUS input held low until the upstream connection is made, that will prevent the TUSB4020B from trying to connect to the host before it is connected.

  • Does it will resolve the issue of the delay in switching upstream port,

and how much delay will require at USB_VBUS input?

How to reset the GRSTz manually any circuit reference for that?

Please find the arrangement of my application.

looking forward to your reply in near future.

    Thanks.

  • Hello Mukesh,

If USB_VBUS is low or GRSTz is held low, the hub will disconnect and not try to connect on the upstream port. The timing will be determined by the switch on the upstream port, this is not something that can be defined by the hub.
