Hello,

I bought a TPS65987-90EVM to evaluate the TPS65987D USB C IC. But my first impression is : I will definitely stop to use TI products...

I've connected both the USB C connector on a USB C power supply and the micro USB on my computer.

The TPS6598x Cutomization tool is running but crash all the time (a lot of different exceptions all the time).

I was able to create a custom config and try to flash the TPS65987D. During the flash process, the tool crashed. Now the evaluation board doesn't appear at all in my Device Manager.

How can I do to revive this board ?

How is it possible that this soft crash all the time ?

I've followed the user guide : www.ti.com/.../slvuar8a.pdf.

    The EVM uses FTDI to interface. There some cases depending platform where FTDI drivers might not work correctly.

    May be you can check this thread to see how it was done. It also shows how you can change the driver on the PC.

    You can move newer 4.03 version GUI.

    One thing helps sometimes is you power the board up first and then connect the micro USB.
