TPS2553: Lower than 15 kOhm ILIM Resistor

Part Number: TPS2553

Hi Team,

my customer accidentally put a 1kOhm resistor on the ILIM pin which is below the 15kOhm threshold defined in the datasheet. Will the current limit be higher that 1.8A or will it limit at 1.8A or will it be unstable?

Thank you for your support!

Best regards

Simon

  • Hi, Simon,

I need to discuss this with designers and test on bench. All our CN teammates are out of office cuz CN holiday. I will reply you when I go back after Oct 8th.

    Regards,

  • Hi, Simon,

Put a resistor below 15kohm will cause the part current limit to be higher than 1.8A.

For normal application, we don't suggest a resistor out of our recommend range, below is description for this in datasheet. Feel free to ask any questions.

    Regards,
    Bob
