Hello,

My customer have some questions about Adaptive Receiver Equalizer in SN65DP159.

[Q1]

Does the equalizer operate as adaptive receiver equalizer under the following conditions across full range 250Mbps to 6Gbps ?

- condition -

I2C_EN/PIN = High (I2C control mode)

DEV_FUNC_MODE=01 (Automatic redriver to retimer crossover at 1.0Gbps)

EQ_EN=1 (EQ enable)

EQ_ADA_EN=1 (Adaptive EQ)

[Q2]

Does the equalizer operate as adaptive receiver equalizer under the following conditions across full range 250Mbps to 6Gbps ?

- condition -

I2C_EN/PIN = Low (Pin Strap mode)

EQ_SEL/A0=No Connect (Adaptive EQ)

  • Hello Katsunaga-san,

    Adaptive equalizer mode can be supported when the DP159 is operating as a retimer. The two states you described above will operate the same with adaptive EQ enabled in retimer mode. Please note that in I2C mode the tx_term_ctl is not automatically set and needs to be set manually.
