P82B96: Can P82B96 work correctly when +5V is supplied through long cables?

Part Number: P82B96

 Hello guys,

One of our customers is considering using P82B96 for long distance (3meters) data transfer.

The cutomer wants to connect between the master enclosure and the remote-control enclosure with 3 meters cable using P82B96 as the attached file. But their master enclosure has 5V power source only and the remote-control enclosure has 3.3V power soures only. They know each P82B96 VCC voltage must be same. So they are planing that the power of P82B96 in the remote-control enclosure is supplied 5V from the main enclosure as the attached.

Could you please tell me whether their connection is problem or not? If it is problem, could you tell me any countermeasure?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

 Best regards,

 Kazuya Nakai.
