[ DS90UB962-Q1 ] Voltage Divider for MODE Pin Always Required?

Hi,

Is a voltage divider (strap registors) always required?

As per datasheet, if customer attempt to overwrite the mode settings through FPD3_MODE Register 0x6D[1:0], can MODE pin be left open?
Or any recommendations?

If the customer will always override mode settings through register setting, it is better to tie MODE pin directly to 1.8v or GND. This way the device will always be strapped into a known mode, then the customer could override.

Let me double check.
The datasheet suggests the 10kohm resistor even for 0 or 7 settings.
Do you recommend to use a 10kohm resistor?

If the customer is not concerned about board space or want to change strap setting later, I recommend following the datasheet suggestion.
If the customer want to save space, tie directly to VDD or GND is ok.
