Hi,

If PD_EN or external HPD_SNK isn't toggle when changing crossover point on retimer mode,

does the device move into redrivermode? or occur any trouble?

    Hello Kuramochi-san,

    If the user is changing the setting of DEV_FUNC_MODE register, then a PD_EN or HPD_SNK toggle is needed to confirm that the new setting is activated.

    If the DEV_FUNC_MODE is already set to 01 or 10, the crossover between redriver and retimer mode is handled automatically and does not require an extra toggle of PD_EN or HPD_SNK.

    In the case of retimer mode(setting 11), does the device move into redrivermode? or occur any trouble?

    Hello Kuramochi-san,

    When the device is set to 11 - retimer only mode, it will not enter redriver mode at any resolution.

    The only concern is that if the TMDS181 is already active and running in redriver mode before the register is set to 11, then the TMDS181 doesn't got to retimer only mode until PD or HPD_SNK toggles low.
