DS90UB949-Q1: Analog Launch Pad - automated pattern generation

Part Number: DS90UB949-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALP

Dear Support Team,

my customer is finalizing the design with DS90UB949-Q1 and starting the test engineering phase; they would like to foresee that automatically at Windows startup, the Analog Launchpad tool starts sending automatically patterns.

I saw that the scripting section of the tool should allow this type of approach, but in order to allow it customer should insert a batch file in the "Windows Startup Programs?" do you have any example of this or any guideline?

Thanks

Best Regards

Nicola

  • Nicola,

Customer can set up automatic pattern generator using ALP Tool Pattern Generator tab as shown below.

Please refer customer also to Data Sheet section 8.3.20 Internal Pattern Generation for details.

    Thanks,

    Vishy

  • Dear Vishy,

thanks for your feedback. Actually the pattern generator was successfully used, now ideally this should be integrated in an automatic test equipment, meaning that the executable would need to run if "called" by Windows.

So customer asks if a batch file is the correct option or if the tool accept DOS scripting.

please let me know if you prefer to move this conversation offline, it may involve NDA issues.

    Thanks

    Best Regards

    Nicola

  • Nicola,

Thanks for the additional explanation. For testing and control from their automatic test equipment, customer can consider using Total Phase Aardvark. Aardvark can connect to our device through I2C pins and has a API that customer can use from DOS or Windows scripting or different high level languages (including LabVIEW) of their choice. Please check
