Team,
I understand the device is rated at +/-70V. My customer is asking whether TCAN1043-Q1 can withstand 72V transient for ~40ms?
Thanks

Viktorija,
The test data we have available shows the device running fine at 1Mbps, 500kbps, and 250kbps with VSUP = +70V. We don't have any data with the voltage over 70V however, to see if it causes any failure. My suspicion is that the device will be fine, given the short duration the 72V will be applied. And with external protection, such as TVS diodes, the device will definitely survive.
I can test this in the lab tomorrow and return with results.

Viktorija,
I just tested this in the lab. I was able to send a 500kHz square wave through the CAN bus with the VSUP voltage at 72V, and no problems occurred.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
