DS90UB954-Q1: asymmetrical mipi lanes configurations between the SERDESs

i am using the 953/954 as my SERDES to send my video from one board to the other,

can i config them to use only 2 lanes on one side (953) and "open" them to 4 lanes (on the 954)?

(maybe this way i can also connect two 953 to one 954)

Hello,
The 954 supports replicate mode. In the CSI-2 Replicate mode, both ports can be programmed to output the same data. The output from CSI-2 port 0
is also presented on CSI-2 port 1. Please refer to the DS90UB954 datasheet for details.

You can also connect two DS90UB953 data to one CSI-2 output on the 954. Please refer to the system examples in the 954 datasheet.

i am trying not to replicate the 2 lines MIPI, but to take a 2lane MIPI camera and open it to a 4 LANE MIPI

could it be done by configuring the SerDes?

Hello,
Do you have a block diagram of the proposed system you have in mind?
The 954 supports virtual channels where data from different sensors/serializers can be interleaved in the same data stream and mapped to the 954 output in different ways. Please refer to the 954 datasheet examples on virtual channel mapping (section 7.4.20).

Yes. You can use only 2 lanes on 953/935 Serializer and produce the data on 4 lanes on 936 side
