SN75DP119: Converting eDP to DP

Hi Team,

1. Do we need any bridge IC to convert eDP to DP?  

    My understanding is that eDP is just the 2-lane or 1-lane version of DP so we don’t need an extra converter. Is my understanding correct?

The figure below shows the subsystem I'm talking about. I think we can just add an HD3SS215 as the switch in between.

    The main differences between DP and eDP are the number of electrical wires, different physical connectors, and different usage models. For example, eDP has an option of supplying backlight power to the LCD panel, getting indication from an ambient light sensor and controlling monitor’s brightness.

    But in terms of the main links, it is the same, and you do not need a converter.
