Does TI have a device like the CY7C9689?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK1501, SN65LV1023A

Hello,

I'm posting this for a customer of mine.

Do we have an optical transceiver like the CY7C9689 in our portfolio?  I wasn't sure if there might be something under our ONET devices or HS Interface devices that is similar to this.

Thanks,

Tom

  • Tom,

TI does not have a SerDes device like the CY7C9689 device.  This device uses 4b/5b coding which is different traditional standards based 8b/10b coding schemes that many of our SerDes have.  If the customer needs a 10:1 SerDes function in the same data rate range supported by the CY7C9689 then I would recommend TI's SN65LV1023A (TX) and SN65LV10224B (RX) LVDS SerDes devices.  These devices use start stop bit coding that is transparent to the customer. If the customer needs  a more robust coding scheme like 8b/10b coding, then I would recommend the TLK1501 SerDes device which supports a data rate range from 600Mbps to 1.5Gbps.

    Thanks,
