I have a question about LMH1297 & LMH0397.

[Q]

Do the following devices support the clock stretch function?
We are using SMBus mode.

- LMH1297RTVT
- LMH0397RTVT

LMH1297 and LMH0397 operate in the same manner. Host may hold clock line low in order to delay SMBus transactions.

I recognize 'Clock Stretching' as 'Slave may hold clock line low'.

But, In LMH1297 and LMH0397, 'Host may hold clock line low'.

This is why?

Greetings Kudo-San,

LMH12xx devices are always SMBus slave. This means they receive clock or SCL signal is driven by a host and slave device - for example LMH12xx device - does not pull clock line low.
