DS90UB964-Q1: FramSync signal

Hi,

FrameSync signal can output from each port by set 0b1010 into BC_GPIOx_SEL register and 0b1XXX into FS_MODE as external FrameSync.

On the other hand, it can output also by set 0b0XXX in to BC_GPIOxSEL register(This means that GPIO signal is used as FrameSync signal).

Is there any difference of characteristics(jitter, delay, etc) during above 2 condition?

Kuramochi-san,

The framesync will be went over the back channel either way, so the difference in characteristics will depend on your reference clock.

For the internally generated Framesync, the jitter will be dependent upon the performance of the 25MHz oscillator. If you have a better clock source you would like to drive the framesync with, you can connect that source to the GPIO externally and the 964 will map it via the back channel.

I would like to know difference of not "internally and externally" but "FrameSync signal and GPIO".
We are supposing only external control.

Sorry I am a little bit confused by your question. Are you asking what the difference is between Framesync and GPIO?
Framesync signals will always be sent via GPIO whether you are running it internally or externally.

I inquire, again.
I'm considering that Framesync signal can send with also setting 0b0XXX into BC_GPIOxSEL register by inputting signal to GPIOx pin .
In this case, is characteristics(jitter, delay, etc) different from setting 0b1010 into BC_GPIOx_SEL register and 0b1XXX into FS_MODE?
