TUSB8044RGCEVM: Power supply selection not correctly specified in user's manual

Part Number: TUSB8044RGCEVM

Hi,

in section "2.6 power supply" of the operation manual () there are a few inconsistencies:

1. The description identifies J5 as the power connector while on the board this is J6.

2. The description says every downstream port can provide 900mA: 4x900mA = 3.6A

But the recommendation says that a 2-3A supply is adequate, this should be increased to ~5A or so.

Thank you!

Regards,

Alberto

  • 1. Ok, we will get this updated.
    2. Most applications will only need a 2A-3A power supply. If 4 bus powered devices that drew 900 mA each were plugged in 2-3A would be insufficient power, but since the 2-3A supplies are more common and more cost effective that is the default recommendation.
